Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, Journeyman

COLSA Corporation is seeking a Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer (Journeyman) to help strengthen weapon system performance and long-term sustainability using DoD/AF engineering principles. This onsite role in Oklahoma City supports mission outcomes through reliability-focused analysis, documentation support, testing participation, and the development of an R&M process aligned to defined requirements and milestone approvals.

What you’ll do

• Apply DoD, AF, and common engineering or scientific principles, processes, and procedures to improve performance and sustainability of existing and future AF and joint service weapon systems.
• Assist with material solution analyses leading up to design reviews.
• Support development of draft documentation and presentation materials requested by program needs and constraints related to cost, schedule, and performance.
• Contribute technical data and inputs for staff summary packages and executive briefings that coordinate document preparation and signature for milestone approvals.
• Translate production and operational requirements into design, fabrication, and testing objectives.
• Provide analysis and recommendations addressing systems suitability for installation, functionality, reliability, and readiness of existing manufacturing processes.
• Attend technical reviews and provide technical advice on the path forward for installation of new hardware and software into the system.
• Support performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies.
• Review system specific test plans and participate in system, subsystem, and component testing.
• Assist in developing an R&M process to ensure the user’s weapon system R&M requirements are defined, achieved, and agreed upon with mission partner alignment.

What you bring

• BA/BS degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
• Ten (10) years of experience in the respective technical or professional discipline being performed, including three (3) years in the DoD.
• Independent proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and Adobe Acrobat.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required.

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of an R&M process aligned with program acquisition, sustainment, and disposal scope and strategy, including alignment clearly evident within the IMP/IMS and integration of an integrity approach to reliable and maintainable design.
• Knowledge of Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and reliability standard reports.
• Ability to work with a G081 database to check failure reporting from the field and assist with handling DRs with proper classification and adequate detail for resolution.
