Job Description

Senior Electrical Engineer role onsite in Oklahoma City, OK, with a salary range of USD 90,000 to 100,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Assesses unit-level systems to determine the suitability of electrical designs and components for the overall system.
Creates and documents system-level electrical requirements derived from unit specifications and applicable electrical and safety codes (including UL/ETL, CE, and local standards) to ensure safe and reliable equipment.
Ensures electrical designs and applications comply with relevant codes and standards.
Develops and documents electrical designs tailored to equipment applications.
Performs peer reviews of colleagues' electrical work and suggests alternative designs to enhance safety, cost efficiency, reliability, and quality.
Other duties as assigned by the manager.
No direct reports; may oversee technical support activities for testing and integration.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from an accredited university.
5+ years of experience with industrial or commercial products, or equivalent related work.
EPlan experience is a plus.
Familiarity with internal and external compliance standards (UL/ETL, CE, and other relevant standards).
HVAC/R experience is desirable.
Proven leadership qualities, strong communication of technical concepts, ability to collaborate in teams and work autonomously, and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

Develop, review, and stamp electrical design packages covering power distribution, grounding, lighting, controls, instrumentation, and motor control systems.
Support construction activities by providing technical guidance, resolving field issues, and reviewing contractor submittals, drawings, and RFIs.
Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment such as MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, generators, and instrumentation systems.
Ensure electrical work complies with NEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, and company-specific standards.
Perform load calculations, arc flash analysis, and short-circuit/coordination studies.

Work with mechanical, civil, structural, and process teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
Support procurement activities including technical evaluations of vendor packages and equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
Professional Engineer license preferred; EIT considered with relevant experience.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial construction environments.
Ability to meet site safety requirements, including PPE and training.
Strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, API RP standards, and hazardous area classifications (Class & Division or Zone).
Experience with electrical design tools such as SKM, ETAP, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
Proven field experience supporting construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
