Resident Engineer
Job Description
The Resident Engineer position based in Hartford, CT supports on-site construction inspection activities for CTDOT Bridge and Highway projects as well as Rail and Facility work, operating within Urban Engineers Inc.'s Construction Inspection Department.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all construction within the project limits to ensure conformance with the Contract plans and specifications.
- Monitor and document activities performed by the Contractor, public utility companies, railroads, governmental agencies, and other entities involved.
- Coordinate with inspections staff, the Client, and Contractors on all aspects of the project.
- Conduct daily construction inspections of ongoing work activities.
- Prepare daily reports, quantity calculations, and documentation detailing observed construction work.
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license registered in the State of Connecticut, or the ability to obtain licensure via reciprocity within six months.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
- Minimum education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Certifications highly preferred: ACI Level 1, NETTCP CI, NETTCP HMAPI, and ATSSA-TCS.
- Experience working on CTDOT Highway and Bridge projects and Rail and Facility projects is preferred.

Pay Rate
$65.00 - $100.00 per hour
