Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer at Cook Group is responsible for developing, implementing, and documenting data systems and data pipelines that align with business specifications. This onsite role in Bloomington, IN emphasizes compliance with data and architectural standards, ongoing solution maintenance, and support for operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a project team to define and document data and data pipelines for a variety of solutions.
  • Provide technical ownership of data and data pipelines to ensure alignment with documented requirements, data standards, and architectural standards.
  • Develop and maintain current-state documentation and deliverables for data solutions.
  • Maintain existing and new data solutions to ensure they continue to meet user needs.
  • Assist operational teams to support continuity of service.
  • Engage with the Data Engineering community of practice to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform work independently with a high degree of latitude, managing complex issues as a subject matter expert.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with others across various levels of the global organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience, with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or other related degree (or comparable experience).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast-paced situations.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • High-level specialist who regularly interacts and works with senior management.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sign non-competition and confidentiality agreements.
  • Compliance with company policies, including the Cook Employee Manual, Cook Code of Conduct, Cook Electronic Information Policy, Product Complaints, HIPAA regulations, and Cook Policy & Guidance On Interaction with Healthcare Professionals.

Technical Skills / Tools

  • Relational SQL and NoSQL databases
  • SQL Server, Oracle, and/or MongoDB (preferred includes experience with one or more)
  • Data transformations, data structures, and data pipelines
  • Data integration tools
  • Object-oriented/object function scripting languages

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • General office environment conditions.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use close visual acuity for computer-related work.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, subject to reasonable accommodation requirements under the ADA.
  • Occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences.
  • International and domestic travel as required.
