Senior Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a hybrid position based in Worcester, Massachusetts. In this role, you will translate applied AI capabilities into secure, scalable features across the applied AI stack, working on areas such as generative AI/LLM applications, intelligent search, and agent-based systems.
This hands-on position focuses on building production-ready machine learning solutions for a large enterprise product ecosystem, with an emphasis on reliability, privacy, and operational excellence.
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end work as a hands-on engineer, including design, implementation, testing, and delivery
- Develop AI-powered capabilities that enable research, summarization, discovery, and knowledge-based decision making
- Architect distributed machine learning services that operate reliably across a large enterprise product ecosystem
- Build and connect components including retrieval pipelines, model services, agent frameworks, and supporting APIs
- Collaborate with application, platform, data, and security teams to meet requirements for performance, resilience, privacy, and scale
Key requirements
- Proven success delivering machine learning or artificial intelligence systems in production environments
- Practical experience designing applications that use LLMs, AI agents, and tool-driven workflows
- Knowledge of RAG patterns, including embedding models, vector stores, and relevance-focused retrieval techniques
- Familiarity with operational ML practices such as testing, deployment automation, observability, and model governance
- Strong Python development skills and sound software engineering fundamentals
- Experience building cloud-native solutions with AWS and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes

Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, engineering, or a closely related field.
