Lead the Cisco Security AI platform by building and operating APIs that make AI capabilities accessible across Cisco teams. This onsite role in Atlanta, GA blends technical leadership with hands-on engineering, including cloud deployment on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will guide a team of Software Engineers, drive technical excellence in API development, and partner with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate AI models and algorithms into production services.
What You’ll Do
- Provide technical leadership by guiding and mentoring a team of Software Engineers, with a focus on API development and cloud deployment quality.
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs that expose AI capabilities to multiple teams, supporting scalability, reliability, and ease of use.
- Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate AI models into the platform and make them available through APIs.
- Use your experience with Kubernetes to architect and optimize deployment and orchestration for containerized AI services.
- Lead deployment and management of AI services on cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure for scalability, security, and cost optimization.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks by optimizing response time and resource utilization across the AI platform.
- Implement robust monitoring and logging to track AI service performance and health, enabling efficient issue resolution.
- Ensure AI services and APIs meet security and compliance standards by working closely with security teams.
- Create clear, comprehensive documentation for APIs and deployment processes so teams can use the platform effectively.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with strong SaaS experience at scale and API-first design, plus demonstrated technical leadership.
- 5+ years of coding experience in Python, Java, Go and/or C/C++.
- BA/BS with 4+ years of experience or MS with 2+ years of experience as a software development engineer.
Helpful Skills
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and the ability to collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers.
- Experience delivering with Docker platform tools (or similar).
- Experience building distributed systems using Kafka, Redis or similar.
- Experience developing cloud infrastructure services on AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure.
- Experience using Kubernetes architecture.
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards.

Compensation Details
Salary range: USD 150,900 - 222,200 per year. The posted range reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, excluding equity and benefits. For non-sales roles, the hiring range reflects base salary only; employees may be eligible for annual bonuses.
