Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Search - Local Services Team

TikTok is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Local Services Search team in Seattle, onsite, to advance large-scale ML in search and recommendation for local services discovery and ecosystem growth.

Responsibilities

• Support the local video service business by boosting user discovery of life services such as hospitality, dining, and leisure.
• Enhance the search experience for local services and drive ecosystem growth.
• Apply large-scale machine learning techniques in search and recommendation across billions of users to improve shopping experiences and increase conversion efficiency.
• Design and implement local services search algorithms across the full stack, including query analysis, relevance, recall, coarse ranking, fine ranking, and blended ranking. Build personalized behavior models for relevance, and develop CTR and CVR predictions. Implement vector recall and value blending.

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid foundation in machine learning and deep learning, with experience in NLP (natural language processing).
• Excellent coding skills with strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Proficiency with Linux development environments.
• Prior experience with search, recommendation, or advertising algorithms.
• Familiarity with local life services and e-commerce domains.

Pay Transparency

• The base salary range for this position in Seattle is USD 202,160 – 368,220 per year.
• Compensation may vary based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location; base pay is one part of the total package, which may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
• Benefits are available day one and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, plus paid time off: 10 holidays, 10 sick days, and 17 paid personal days prorated on hire with tenure.
