Job Description

PO&G Resources is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer based in the Houston Galleria area. In this onsite role, you will partner with operations and field personnel to evaluate conventional oil and gas reservoirs, improve production performance, and support reserve growth through disciplined technical and economic analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritize, present, and monitor oil and gas development and exploitation projects designed to increase production and reserves
  • Assess reservoir mechanics and estimate the potential for additional recovery
  • Research field and well histories to support reservoir evaluation
  • Analyze cased hole and open hole well logs
  • Review and interpret pressure data and production/injection performance
  • Create structure, production, isobaric, and isopach maps
  • Compile field data into a complete history and development plan for future activity
  • Evaluate economics and profitability for proposed projects to support company decision-making
  • Collaborate as an integrated team with operations engineers to move reserve-add initiatives toward executable status
  • Prepare reserve reports used for bank reporting and annual reporting
  • Coordinate with accounting and land departments as required
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute opportunities to maximize value, including infill drilling, recompletions, well reactivations, waterflood optimization, injection well conversions, and related activities

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum seven (7) years oil and gas experience, including minimum five (5) years reservoir engineering experience
  • Proven ability to generate investment opportunities
  • Professional conduct and the ability to represent the company positively in all interactions

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
  • High level of independence and self-direction
  • Self-motivated with strong individual initiative
  • Ability to conduct detailed reservoir evaluations and studies
  • Capability to integrate geological data into reservoir analysis

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize and present complex information
  • Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently and meet deadlines
  • Clear understanding of business drivers and how they apply to development projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for analyzing complex data sets
  • Proficiency in PHDwin and geologic mapping tools (Petra) is a plus
