Senior Software Engineer
Job Description
At EndeavorCX, the Senior Software Engineer will help steer our AI engineering efforts within a hybrid work setup in Manhattan, Kansas. This role focuses on building features for Agentic AI, designing and implementing API layers, and elevating the performance and reliability of AI systems in production. You will own production code, establish engineering standards, and advance best practices in agentic architectures, model integration, evaluation, and LLM application development.
Responsibilities
- Own the AI engineering practice by defining the technical direction for designing, building, and operating Agentic AI systems across the platform.
- Research and implement emerging best practices in agentic architectures, model integration, prompt and context engineering, evaluation, and LLM application development, then codify them into production standards.
- Contribute directly to production code, architect core systems, write critical paths, and set quality standards through your code and reviews.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Frontend Engineers to concept and build new features for a growing user base.
- Lead or significantly contribute to large cross-functional projects with meaningful business impact.
- Own features or systems long term and improve the health of related components and the broader platform.
- Develop evaluation, observability, and reliability tooling that keeps AI systems accurate, safe, and performant in production.
- Assist the support and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issues.
- Advance engineering standards, tooling, and processes across the team.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional web application development experience.
- Hands-on experience building production systems with LLMs or agentic AI, including model integration, evaluation, and reliability at scale.
- Ability to stay current with AI engineering advances and assess readiness for production use.
- Experience leading technical architecture discussions and steering technical decisions within a team.
- Writes clear, testable, maintainable code with an emphasis on quality.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to designers, support staff, and engineers.
- Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
