Software/Data Engineer
Job Description
Peraton is hiring a Software/Data Engineer for its Cyber Mission business unit supporting a large, enterprise-wide engineering contract within the Intelligence Community. This is an onsite role based in Laurel, MD (supporting work in the Fort Meade, Maryland area). You will contribute to the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex software systems, with the ability to provide input to system design efforts that can include COTS/GOTS components.
In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of software engineering and engineering operations, leveraging modern cloud and automation capabilities while collaborating with users and system engineers. Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements
- Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements
- Document test results
- Use software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment
- Provide specific input to software components of system design, including use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development
- Analyze system performance standards to develop software solutions
- Confer with users and system engineers
- Analyze usage and work processes and investigate problem areas
- Support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university and nineteen (19) years of demonstrated experience in Software Engineering
- OR seventeen (17) years of experience in Software Engineering with a Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university
- OR fourteen (14) years of experience in Software Engineering with a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field from an accredited college or university
- OR twenty (20) years of experience in Software Engineering with a High School Diploma or GED
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and other comparable platforms
- Strong Linux and Python background
- Understanding of IT management and operations
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required

- AWS or Azure Solutions Architect certifications (a plus)
Compensation
Target salary range: $176,000 - $282,000 per year
