Software Engineer - Fab Automation

Jireh Semiconductor is seeking a Fab Automation Software Engineer to support semiconductor wafer fabrication through robust, production-ready software systems. This is a fully onsite role in Hillsboro, OR, focused on building and maintaining manufacturing automation capabilities, integrating with MES and equipment, and responding quickly to issues in a high-availability environment.

The position centers on developing manufacturing applications and interfaces that connect factory automation and equipment to the software stack that drives wafer fab operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support manufacturing software systems for semiconductor wafer fabrication.
• Design and develop manufacturing applications using Java, SQL, and Python, with Java as the primary development platform.
• Develop and maintain interfaces between MES, factory automation systems, equipment, and manufacturing applications.
• Support fab automation and equipment integration, including SECS/GEM.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and IT teams to deliver solutions and resolve production issues.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing software and integration issues, performing root cause analysis in a 24x7 production environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software development or manufacturing systems experience, preferably in a semiconductor wafer fab environment.
• Strong hands-on Java development experience and solid SQL skills.
• Good understanding of wafer fab MES, factory automation, and manufacturing system architecture.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a cross-functional engineering environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with SECS/GEM and equipment integration.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems such as RMS, SPC, or FDC.
