Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is hiring a Software Engineer Principal for an onsite role in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this position, you will help develop, sustain, and troubleshoot the GHOSTGEM software suite, including DINO, and may support additional capabilities as mission needs evolve. The role includes a likely annual salary range of $175,950 - $238,050 and requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph, along with relevant hands-on engineering experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, sustain, and troubleshoot the GHOSTGEM software suite applications, including DINO, along with possible future capabilities driven by mission requirements.
  • Implement, test, and integrate solutions with COTS, GOTS, and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.

Core Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science
  • Experience: 8+ years of related experience
  • Security clearance: TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Experience using the Linux CLI and tools
  • Experience developing scripts using Bash
  • Recent Python (3.x) software development experience
  • Experience with Rust programming concepts, or the willingness and aptitude to learn Rust
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containers
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
  • Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services on Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with messaging frameworks including RabbitMQ
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools including GitLab CI
  • Familiarity with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools such as Ansible
  • Experience using Git source control system

Preferred / Key Skills for Success

  • SQL database experience including PostgreSQL
  • Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence
  • Key focus areas: Bash, GitLab CI/CD, Linux, MongoDB, RabbitMQ
