Sr Data Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Harbor Freight Tools USA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to help design, build, and support enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities. This remote role focuses on collecting, analyzing, and transforming large volumes of business data, with an emphasis on delivering BI reports, dashboards, and analytics architectures that support key performance indicators.
In this position, you will partner with business stakeholders and leadership to ensure the right data and metrics are gathered and analyzed, and then translate insights into self-service reporting and analytics that improve performance across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Analyze large data sets and extract patterns that drive customer insight, optimized performance, enhanced engagement, improved retention, increased revenue, and decreased cost.
- Collaborate with business partners and management teams to ensure appropriate data and metrics are collected and analyzed to enable process and profit improvements.
- Work with executives and leadership teams to formulate hypotheses and design research to improve key performance indicators.
- Partner with data infrastructure engineers to design architecture and data integrity constraints that ensure the data collection pipeline and analysis infrastructure meet business needs.
- Identify requirements and design, create, deploy, and support self-service BI reports and cubes that improve discovery and information sharing for business partners.
- Design, develop, implement, manage, and monitor Business Intelligence dashboards.
- Use expertise in data modeling, ETL architecture, and report design to support department initiatives, producing documentation such as data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
- Master of Science in Business or Advanced Certifications preferred.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in technology, analytics, or Business Intelligence.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying, and enhancing high-visibility programs, analytics, dashboards, and reports.
- Adept at rapid prototyping and deploying stable and maintainable BI solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data-related programming and other high-level languages preferred.
- Strong knowledge of distributed computing, data warehouse, data mining, business analytics, and software development.
- Significant experience with modern data analytics infrastructure, including MS SQL Server (SSIS/SSRS), Tableau, SPSS, TM1, Netezza, Oracle, OBIEE, Financials, and related platforms.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, analysis, replication, and distributed and relational data and database mapping.
- Significant experience working with very large data sets and performing product- and business-level analysis.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, data warehouse technologies, RDBMS, and common BI tools and techniques.
- Strong background in computer science, statistics, and mathematics.
- Analytical thinker who excels at analyzing and understanding data to answer questions.
- Ability to take on responsibility, collaborate, and excel in a fast-paced, small team environment.
- Ability to perform the job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
- General office environment requirements, including the ability to sit for long periods and move about an office.

Compensation & Location
- Location: Calabasas, CA (remote), remote anywhere
- Salary: USD 98,500 - 147,800 per yearly
- Travel: less than 5%
- Flex Designation: Flex Workplan Designation
