Sr. Data Engineer

CyberSource Corporation is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Bellevue, WA to help translate business needs into reliable, secure data solutions. In this onsite role, you will partner with stakeholders to define requirements, design data pipeline components, and support data-driven product delivery with strong data quality and governance practices.

As part of the team, you will build and test pipeline capabilities, contribute to troubleshooting for issues identified through testing, and support technical client requests including software upgrades and security remediation.

Location and Compensation

• Location: Bellevue, WA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 123,700 - 191,300 per yearly

Responsibilities

• Collaborate proactively with stakeholders to clarify requirements and identify key product stakeholders.
• Review technical requirements, escalate potential design issues, and create component designs and documentation.
• Implement code using established coding patterns and best practices while adhering to security requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, apply feedback, and take ownership of data products or pipeline components.
• Perform unit testing, follow coding standards, complete security scans, and participate in user acceptance testing.
• Build tools and simple automation processes to transform, manage, access, deploy, and monitor data processes.
• Create queries to extract and compile raw data, implement orchestration techniques, and validate data quality.
• Ensure alignment with data management principles, governance, and performance monitoring protocols.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and procedures to review and fix problems flagged by testing.
• Support routine client requests that require technical knowledge, including software upgrades and server patches for security remediation.

Requirements

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.
• Specialist: 4 or more years of relevant work experience.
• Experience presenting technical solutions and capabilities to peers.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and define technical solutions.
• Experience designing and documenting technical components for data products or pipelines.
• Experience implementing code and applying coding standards and security requirements.
• Experience conducting unit testing and participating in user acceptance testing.
• Experience building automation tools for data processes.
• Experience creating queries and implementing data extraction and transformation techniques.
• Experience ensuring data quality and performance monitoring.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving pipeline issues.
• Experience supporting software upgrades and security remediation.
• Experience staying current with market trends and applying industry knowledge to innovation.
• Experience participating in code reviews and mentoring peers.
• Experience addressing client requests requiring technical knowledge.
