Sr. Data Engineer/Architect
Job Description
Join a team focused on modernizing enterprise data platforms through hands-on engineering. This onsite role in Houston, TX supports critical data workflows in a modern cloud environment, with the ability to use AI-enabled tools to accelerate development, testing, and production support.
You will design, build, and troubleshoot data pipelines and integration workflows, ensuring reliability and scalability across the Data & analytics function.
What you’ll do
- Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for enterprise data flows.
- Develop and support Informatica data integration workflows (PowerCenter, IICS, or similar).
- Design scalable data solutions and data models that support downstream analytics and engineering needs.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure pipeline reliability.
- Use AI-enabled tools to help accelerate development, testing, and support activities.
- Follow CI/CD, version control, and engineering best practices.
- Participate in a light on-call rotation for Sev 2+ pipeline incidents (approximately once every 5-6 weeks).
What you bring
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Python (or a similar programming language).
- Experience building and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica (PowerCenter, IICS, or similar).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
- Familiarity with Airflow or comparable orchestration tools.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and production support experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Spark or other distributed processing frameworks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modeling.
- Experience with DevOps and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
Compensation & benefits
Targeted hourly pay range: $60/hr to $90/hr. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The hourly pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
