Sr. Digital Engineer MBSE
Job Description
SAIC's Solutions & Technology Group seeks a Sr. Digital Engineer MBSE to advance model-based systems engineering, digital engineering, and system-of-systems capabilities for defense and national security programs. This onsite role is in San Diego, with up to 10% travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy digital engineering and MBSE solutions for complex military systems and missions.
- Build and optimize digital models for requirements capture and analysis using MBSE techniques, SysML, and tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw or Rhapsody.
- Design and model system-of-systems architectures, capturing structured expressions and complex interactions to ensure technical coherence.
- Promote and implement systems and digital engineering best practices to improve mission outcomes, enhance stakeholder collaboration, and enable advanced simulations and analyses.
- Apply Mission Engineering principles to design and evaluate solutions aligned with operational scenarios and mission objectives.
- Represent technical work in working groups, exchange meetings, and executive briefings to communicate progress, insights, and innovative concepts.
- Support upskilling of engineering teams on MBSE standards and methods, fostering proficiency across projects.
- Oversee systems engineering processes throughout the lifecycle, including architecture, requirements, CONOPS, interface control, and verification.
- As needed, support business development through proposal generation, customer engagement, and crafting innovative solutions tailored to mission challenges.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry advancements, and tools to integrate innovative practices into digital engineering methodologies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year.
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; US Citizenship required.
- Proven experience applying systems and digital/ MBSE methods across defense, civilian, or national security domains.
- Advanced expertise using MBSE tools (Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody) and frameworks (SysML, UPDM, UML, UAF).
- Broad systems engineering experience in architecture, requirements, CONOPS, and verification.
- Familiarity with US Government systems engineering processes and priorities, particularly DoW related frameworks (DODI 5000.02, JCIDS, IEEE 15288).
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to execute tasks and foster collaboration in dynamic environments.
- Proficient in briefing complex topics to senior leaders and producing high-quality technical documentation.
- Skilled at integrating Mission Engineering principles into system solutions.
- Experience with multidisciplinary modeling, simulation, and lifecycle tools (ModelCenter, AFSIM, SIMULIA, DNG, RQM).
