Sr. Project Engineer - BEV Systems Engineering
Job Description
Lead BEV powertrain and EV charging systems engineering for delivery vehicle product lines, with a focus on requirements, integration, validation support, and supplier configuration planning.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and maintain systems engineering requirements in a requirements management tool
- Review supplier specifications and provide guidance to internal teams on integrating control modules
- Review test cases and support the vehicle verification and validation team to ensure correct execution
- Maintain requirement-to-validation traceability across the systems engineering lifecycle
- Support system-level safety analysis in partnership with the functional safety team
- Plan and coordinate module configurations with suppliers
- Document and generate incident reports and tickets to address requirement, testing, or configuration issues
- Drive open issues toward proper closure by initiating and coordinating resolution actions
- Own systems engineering requirements and test cases tied to BEV powertrain and energy management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, software or comparable
- 8+ years of experience in the automotive field

- Experience in requirements management for systems engineering
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Experience working with CAN communication and protocols
- J1772 experience and DC charge/digital communication
- Occasional travel to support vehicle testing, program milestones, and collaboration with cross-functional teams (travel frequency varies by project needs and employee location)
- Master’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, software or comparable
- Expert knowledge of DOORS Next Gen or Jama requirements management tools
- Expert knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools including Vector CANalyzer, Vector CANoe, PEAK PCAN, Kvaser CANKing
- Experience with large OEM process and procedures
