This Staff Analytics Engineer role owns the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery outcomes behind digital analytics, setting standards that help product and engineering teams capture reliable behavioral signals across web and mobile. The position also serves as a subject matter expert, mentoring cross-functional partners and influencing technical direction through architecture reviews.

What you’ll do

  • Set the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for clickstream data collection across the organization, aligned to business objectives and KPIs at scale
  • Own data collection outcomes for web and mobile products, ensuring clickstream data is complete, accurate, and usable
  • Define what gets measured and why, translating behavioral signals and event schemas into analytics, reporting, and experimentation needs
  • Turn stakeholder questions into unambiguous instrumentation specifications including events, parameters, identifiers, schemas, and data contracts engineers can implement across platforms
  • Identify instrumentation gaps proactively and drive resolution with engineering and QA teams
  • Audit tagging and tracking health by analyzing data, then surface improvement opportunities to guide future measurement decisions
  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex data discrepancies and tracking issues, and drive architectural changes to prevent recurrence
  • Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, analysts, and peers, sharing clickstream measurement expertise across the organization
  • Represent the data and analytics function in technical leadership and architecture review forums, and lead cross-functional alignment on architecture decisions

  • Experience architecting, implementing, and operating enterprise clickstream platforms using tools such as Amplitude, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Segment, Snowplow, Google Tag Manager, and Kafka
  • Hands-on skill designing event-based data models for web and mobile, including event taxonomies, parameter and identifier design, and data contracts
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into precise instrumentation specifications and orchestrate delivery across Product Engineering, Analytics, QA, and platform partners
  • JavaScript for tracking implementation, fluency with browser and mobile debugging tools, and experience designing scalable data pipelines
  • SQL proficiency in a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake) to validate data quality, investigate anomalies, and own the analysis
  • Working knowledge of data governance, privacy, and consent frameworks including GDPR and CCPA and how they affect instrumentation design
  • Experience enabling self-service analytics at scale through standardized metrics frameworks, reporting taxonomies, or dashboards
  • Demonstrated use of AI-enabled tools (such as Claude, Gemini, Cortex, Copilot, etc.) as a force multiplier
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including creating precise technical specs and documenting architecture and governance decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences
