Articus Solutions, LLC is seeking a General Engineer/Architect: Programming to support the 355th Civil Engineer Squadron at Davis Monthan AFB, onsite in Davis Monthan AFB, AZ. This role centers on project programming, data entry, cost estimation, and documentation, with potential involvement in construction management and operations and maintenance activities.
Overview
The General Engineer/Architect: Programming supports the 355th Civil Engineer Squadron (355 CES) at Davis Monthan AFB, with the programming of projects for future year execution.
The General Engineer/Architect: Programming performs enterprise business system data entry, prepares supporting documents, validates the currency and completeness of BUILDER SMS data, works with customers to define project requirements, prepares cost estimates, drafts DD Form 1391s, and advises the 355 CES on recommended procurement strategies.
The General Engineer/Architect: Programming assesses applicable cost basis and investigates applicable recent, relevant project data that could serve to improve the fidelity of the cost estimate.
All requirements will be completed following AFCEC business rules. In conjunction with the primary duty of programming, on a less frequent basis, the General Engineer/Architect: Programming may perform work in the construction management, program/base development, and/or operations and maintenance (O&M) functions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend programs and development plans for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities, including utility systems, leveraging multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge.
- Perform programming for Facilities Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM), decentralized FSRM (dFSRM), MILCON, customer-funded, mission partner, and/O&M programs/projects.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental codes in programming, design, and construction of facilities.
- Utilize information management, CAD (CADD) software, and project tracking systems to solve engineering/architectural problems and facilitate work.
- Assess a proposed project’s validity, feasibility, and efficiency based on scheduling, cost, manpower, and other constraints.
- Execute engineering duties related to O&M for maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities and utilities.
- Collaborate with organizational managers, budget personnel, and engineering/architectural authorities to develop and obtain approval for facility programs/projects.
- Assist in coordinating and attending project development meetings, contract review meetings, pre-construction meetings, site visits, and other pertinent sessions to align information with installation activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
- 5+ years of experience as a design engineer or project manager
