Job Description

Tecuity, Inc. builds and supports internet applications for Secretary of State offices using a multi-tenant, .NET-based platform. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain assigned features end to end, balancing strong engineering practices with modern AI-assisted development workflows.

What you’ll do

Design and deliver solutions for complex problems, working toward innovative, optimal outcomes.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather and define requirements, estimate level of effort, and contribute to user experience, design, and architecture decisions.
Own implementation work across assigned projects, including schedules, milestones, and integration into the overall system.
Contribute across all phases of the application development process.
Ship features and defect fixes across the web application, API, and database layers, with primary responsibility for the quality of your own work.
Write and maintain automated tests, ensuring changes continue to pass pull request and build validation gates.
Participate in code review as both an author and reviewer, following Tecuity coding standards and Pull Request guidelines.
Use AI-assisted development tools as part of normal workflow, applying the same review, testing, and verification standards to AI-generated code as code you write yourself.
Author engineering documentation for your work, including acceptance criteria, QA testing instructions, effort estimates, and explanations for non-technical stakeholders.
Provide user support for web software applications and support your own changes through development, stage, and production, including investigating defects and data issues that do not reproduce locally.
Participate in build and release activities for your implementations, including branch and promotion workflows in Azure DevOps.
Manage multiple competing priorities with little to no supervision.
Complete additional programming duties as assigned.

Required qualifications

4-year degree or equivalent experience.
6+ years of professional work coding in C# in a .NET environment (current platform includes .NET 8 and .NET 10, ASP.NET Core, Web API, LINQ, and maintenance of established .NET Framework legacy implementations).
6+ years of experience with MS SQL Server (or equivalent SQL), with strong knowledge of stored procedures and functions.
Experience with web technologies including ASP.NET, HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, and JSON.
Practical experience with a component-based JavaScript framework (front end is React with Redux).
Experience developing and consuming REST APIs.
Experience with Entity Framework Core, including migrations, alongside stored-procedure-based data access.
Experience writing automated unit tests in a codebase where tests gate the build.
Experience with Git in a branch-and-pull request workflow.
Experience developing cross-browser code and responsive CSS.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing clearly for non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-assisted development tooling while maintaining full ownership of correctness.

AI-assisted development

AI-assisted development is used as a standard part of engineers’ daily workflow. Claude Code is used actively and its role is expanding, and you will be expected to verify generated output rather than accept it automatically. AI is treated as a fast collaborator that still requires oversight, allowing engineers to move faster while maintaining established standards.
