About the Role
The Facilities Water Engineer focuses on safety, capacity, reliability, documentation and advanced troubleshooting of Ultrapure Water and related systems in a semiconductor fab. You will manage PM/CM documentation, operating procedures, and training, with opportunities to contribute to design and construction efforts and to mentor teammates.
Responsibilities
- Apply 5S methodology to improve workspace organization, efficiency and safety.
- Provide after‑hours support for operational and maintenance issues to resolve technical system problems.
- Lead or assist in troubleshooting system operational issues and implementing countermeasures.
- Review data from equipment and systems to ensure operation within specifications.
- Maintain a technical focus on problem solving, root cause analysis, engineering design, cost estimation, financial management, and project management.
- Forecast capacity needs based on current and projected demand; develop plans to meet future requirements.
- Identify capacity concerns and analyze data to predict utility and chemical usage.
- Plan future‑ready techniques, operating strategies, and design requirements that safeguard end users and infrastructure.
- Develop system documentation including PM/CM plans, operating instructions, SOPs, OCAPs, and training; identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure equipment and operations meet manufacturer specifications and environmental protection requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost, optimize PM frequency, and evaluate outsource versus insource options.
- Forecast costs and manage expenditures for new construction or sustaining operations; report deviations to management.
- Integrate reliability and risk analysis, including FMEA and RCA, into daily practices.
- Lead system design, startup/commissioning, construction, training, and 8D problem solving for equipment failures affecting production.
- Collaborate with internal customers and service providers to prevent downtime and maintain clear communication.
- Provide training and troubleshooting to technicians to ensure safe operations and maintenance.
- Standardize best practices across site specifications, standards, and procedures; pursue innovative concepts and drive implementation.
- Accept additional duties as needed, including Emergency Response Team activities.
- Participation in ERT duties is required if assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- 5–7 years of experience supporting facilities systems in a semiconductor fab environment.
- Direct experience operating and troubleshooting Ultrapure Water Systems in a high‑availability manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of water purification technologies, including RO, EDI, ion exchange, filtration, UV, and degasification.
- Experience across the full lifecycle of water systems design, construction, commissioning, and day‑to‑day operations.
- Proven ability to maintain water quality specifications and respond to system upsets with effective root cause and corrective actions.
- Must be able to obtain and hold a US government security clearance.

Shift and Compliance
Shift: Standard Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend on‑call rotations supporting a 24/7, high‑volume manufacturing environment.
