Inspired Energy is seeking a Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Engineer to support both new product development and the upkeep of legacy designs. This onsite role in Newberry, FL focuses on practical engineering work that turns ideas into prototypes, validated documentation packages, and production-ready outcomes.
What you will do
- Design and develop prototypes, then analyze and test prototypes and each revision of a device
- Design for production, including work to ensure fabrication, assembly, and installation processes are addressed
- Use PTC Creo and AutoCAD to design plastic parts for injection molding
- Evaluate drawings, specifications, and other engineering documents
- Develop, initiate, and manage all phases of assigned projects
- Create and maintain project documentation, including validation and verification included in complete documentation packages
- Design and procure tools and equipment as needed to support project work
- Collaborate with internal teams (Production, Sales, Purchasing, and other Engineers) to support tracking of resources and respond to customer questions
- Create bill of materials (BOM) in accounting software Netsuite
- Maintain legacy product designs required for ongoing business needs
- Assist and support others as necessary
What you bring
- ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering
- 1+ years of employment in the field of study
- Sufficient mathematical ability and a logical approach to design problems to identify solutions
- Strong multi-tasking ability to handle rapidly changing assignments, schedules, and priorities
- Creative thinking and innovation
- Familiarity with CAD and mechanical design software, including PTC Creo
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Experience operating a variety of equipment, including lathes, CNC machines, electronic test equipment, and small hand tools
- Ability to use schematics, blueprints, wiring lists, and instructions
- Ability to assure product quality by designing testing methods and testing finished product
- Capability to provide engineering information by answering engineering questions and requests

Physical requirements and work environment
This position is classified as medium work, with occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds, frequent exertion of up to 30 pounds, and constant exertion of up to 10 pounds to move objects.
- Close visual acuity is required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, extensive reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small defects or parts, using measurement devices, and machine operation/inspection.
- Work is performed inside and outside, and may involve hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and working on scaffolding or at high places.
Movement-related requirements include stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing (up to 2 hours at a time), walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
