The Senior Electrical Engineer role supports the design and development of electrical systems for a range of facility types, with an onsite assignment in Syosset, NY. This position emphasizes code-compliant engineering, construction documentation, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Role Overview
LiRo-Hill has an immediate need for a Senior Electrical Engineer at its Syosset, NY location. The work centers on delivering electrical design solutions for commercial, industrial, municipal, and healthcare facilities.
The LiRo Group provides construction management, engineering, environmental, architectural, and program management services. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston, and Edison, NJ. Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc., consolidated a portion of the experienced Northeast staff of LiRo and Hill to create a larger team to serve clients more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for commercial, industrial, municipal, and healthcare facilities.
- Perform site visits, inspections, and field surveys to support design and construction phases.
- Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, and load calculations.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other team members.
- Review submittals and RFIs during construction administration.
- Serve as Project Engineer and Project Manager on smaller, less complex projects.
- Use engineering and design computer software to complete assigned work, including Autodesk Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Lead a team of engineers and work independently with limited guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant electrical design experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and IEEE.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, including electrical design software.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with general instructions or guidance from senior engineers to produce expected results.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multitask to meet specific project deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Commissioning experience (plus).
- Experience with sustainable design and LEED-certified projects.

- Salary: USD 120,000 - 160,000 per year
