Farnsworth Group is seeking a Municipal Civil Engineer to support planning, design, and project delivery for municipal infrastructure initiatives. This hybrid role serves local and government agencies, with work spanning water, wastewater, stormwater, and streets, along with field-based observation and document development from early stages through completion.
Based in Champaign, IL (hybrid), the position can also align with posting locations including Champaign, Effingham, Normal, Peoria, or Pontiac, IL. The salary range is USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year, with final compensation determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal or external equity.
Role Focus
- Plan, design, and manage municipal civil engineering projects for local and government agencies
- Support projects related to water, sewer, stormwater, and streets
- Conduct field inspections and contribute to construction engineering and observation
- Prepare and develop construction and design documents from inception through completion

Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- 2 to 5 years of Civil Engineering experience
- FE or PE Certification, or expected to be obtained
- Experience with IDOT, MFT, and local agency projects
- Experience or understanding of working with state and local authorities
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
- Ability to work in both the office and field for construction engineering and observation
- Management, communication, and organization skills
