The Advanced Embedded Security Engineer will shape and enforce Zebra's Secure Development Lifecycle across ADC products, design security controls for embedded and multi-OS environments, and communicate security practices to development teams. This role is based in Holtsville, NY with a hybrid schedule requiring three on-site days per week.
Responsibilities
- Define the product security framework, including policies, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with teams on firmware development for embedded devices.
- Lead security initiatives within the business unit by engaging in daily agile stand-ups and promoting secure software practices; partner with scrum teams on secure software solution architecture.
- Support quarterly SAMM self-assessments by setting goals, reporting progress, and aiding audits.
- Identify opportunities to apply new security technologies and reuse existing tools to align with the BU's business strategy.
- Conduct threat analyses and risk assessments.
- Design security controls, monitoring, and scanning tooling.
- Guide engineering through the Secure Development Lifecycle workflow across all products.
- Develop and approve security checklists for milestone releases.
- Support penetration testing efforts and manage incident responses.
- Assist in the development and review of product security documents.
- Deliver Security DevOps with multiple scrum teams and plan user stories for sprints while addressing security requirements and impact.
- Develop and maintain best practices for deploying desktop, native, web, and service-based applications in Linux, Windows, and other environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 8+ years of experience in a relevant field
- Verifiable experience in enterprise software security

Pay range
USD 122,800.00 β 184,200.00 annually
Incentive compensation
In addition to base pay, there is an opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive with a target equal to 12% of base pay, subject to the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
