This mid level cybersecurity hardware engineer role centers on testing and evaluating hardware and cross-domain systems to meet DoD security requirements, developing testing methodologies, identifying threat vectors, conducting vulnerability assessments, and reporting findings.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team to test and assess systems against defined security requirements to identify potential risks.
- Study vendor system documentation to understand and design effective testing methodologies.
- Apply domain knowledge to examine hardware description language and uncover potential threat vectors.
- Evaluate hardware and software cross-domain systems to confirm compliance with stringent DoD security standards.
- Perform analysis and testing to uncover vulnerabilities and threat vectors in cross-domain systems, identify exploits, and formulate attack approaches.
- Leverage specialized functional and industry knowledge as needed.
- Develop or contribute to solutions for problems of moderate scope and complexity as required.
- Produce reports from hands-on testing and brief stakeholders on findings.
- Pursue research in hardware-based filtering technologies to broaden departmental understanding and support business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in electrical or computer engineering.
- Experience with VHDL or OpenCL firmware programming.
- Experience with HDL verification techniques, including SystemVerilog, OVM, or UVM.
- Experience analyzing and executing test plans and procedures.
- Experience developing or analyzing technical documentation.
- Knowledge of implementing Linux operating systems, including Red Hat.
- Knowledge of an FPGA device, including Xilinx, Intel, or Microsemi.
- Secret clearance.
- Associate's degree.
- Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification, including Security+ CE, CYSA, SSCP, or GSEC Certification, within 6 months of hire date.

Compensation
Salary range for this role is USD 61,900 to 141,000 per year.
