AI Engineer

Pi Security is building an agentic product security platform that helps teams secure software at the speed they ship. By connecting security knowledge across code, tickets, documents, incidents, reviews, and people, Pi creates an institutional security memory that supports faster triage, context-rich remediation, fewer recurring vulnerability classes, and security guardrails integrated into everyday engineering work.

The AI Engineer role focuses on building reliable agents and strengthening the AI infrastructure behind them. You will turn advances in LLMs into practical security features and help move new capabilities into production. This position is on-site in San Francisco, CA, working five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable AI agents, pipelines, and services.
• Build and improve infrastructure for running, evaluating, and monitoring AI agents.
• Collaborate with product and security teams to design and deliver AI-powered security features.
• Evaluate advances in LLMs and AI agents, and apply improvements where they enhance the product.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience and a track record of building reliable production systems.
• 2 years of experience building AI systems with LLMs.
• 1 year of experience building AI agents for software products.

Nice to Have

• Experience delivering complex SaaS projects in high-growth startups.
• A focus on clean, maintainable code, thoughtful software design, and sound engineering practices.
• Background in machine learning or data science.
• Full-stack experience with TypeScript and React.
