AI Engineer, Developer Relations
Job Description
Cerebras Systems is hiring an AI Engineer for Developer Relations in Sunnyvale, CA (hybrid). This is a hands-on role where you build prototypes, optimize harnesses around models, and translate fast-inference experiments into technical content developers can use. You will also debug agent workflows, compare model behavior on realistic workloads, and support adoption through demos, tutorials, and workshops.
What you’ll do
- Write blogs, tutorials, walkthroughs, and practical guides grounded in your own experiments.
- Build and improve sample applications, notebooks, and interactive experiences that showcase Cerebras fast inference.
- Develop and refine model code and workflows, including prompts, tool use, context management, orchestration, and evaluation.
- Identify bottlenecks and test approaches to improve speed, reliability, and output quality.
- Try new models and assess capabilities, limitations, and fit for different tasks.
- Compare model behavior on realistic workloads and turn findings into examples and recommendations for developers.
- Design practical tests, measure results, and validate technical claims.
- Make your work easy to run, while clearly explaining assumptions, tradeoffs, and limitations.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and New Media to create technically accurate launch examples, workshops, and stories.
- Present your work and help developers understand how to apply it.
- Engage with developers, troubleshoot integrations, and convert recurring questions into improvements to examples, documentation, and the product experience.
What you bring
- A strong portfolio of AI applications, prototypes, technical writing, tutorials, or other substantive developer-facing work.
- Hands-on experience building with model APIs and debugging AI application workflows.
- Excellent technical writing skills, turning complex implementations or experimental results into clear, useful explanations.
- Experience with agent harnesses or related workflows involving prompting, tool calling, context management, and evaluation.
- An informed view of the AI developer ecosystem and curiosity about new models, frameworks, and emerging application patterns.
- Strong technical judgment to design fair comparisons, verify results, and separate observations from assumptions.
- Original ideas for demos and developer experiences, with a clear understanding of what makes examples useful and engaging.
- Ability to scope projects, ship independently, incorporate feedback, and collaborate with technical and creative partners.
Nice to have
- Experience optimizing latency, responsiveness, or reliability in AI applications.
- Contributions to open-source projects, developer tools, or publicly available technical examples.
- Experience teaching developers through workshops, talks, or live demonstrations.
