Job Description
Duke Health Technology Solutions is seeking an Analytics Engineer to act as a dependable analytics partner to Nursing and Case Management leadership. In this onsite Durham, NC role, you will build reporting and decision support capabilities that help translate operational, quality, patient safety, and performance improvement priorities into actionable insights.
How you’ll contribute
- Collaborate with Nursing and Case Management leaders to understand business needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver data-driven solutions aligned with strategic and operational objectives.
- Provide timely updates to stakeholders on project progress, risks, dependencies, and opportunities.
- Design, develop, validate, document, and maintain reporting and analytics solutions to ensure information is accurate, timely, and actionable.
- Own recurring reporting processes, focusing on data integrity, consistency, documentation quality, and reliable delivery of performance metrics and scorecards.
- Convert complex analysis into clear insights for audiences ranging from frontline operational teams to senior executive leadership.
- Support quality improvement, operational excellence, and performance improvement through analytical consultation and data-driven recommendations.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to improve data collection, increase reporting efficiency, and strengthen operational performance.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or four years of equivalent technical experience.
- Experience expectations by level:
- Level 1: No experience required beyond the minimum education (or equivalency) requirement.
- Level 2: Two years of directly related experience required.
- Level 3: Four years of directly related experience required.
Certifications and preferred qualifications
- Licensure/Certification: None required. Preferred certification in development technologies, as appropriate for the position.
- Preferred: Experience in a healthcare environment with understanding of clinical, nursing, case management, quality, and patient safety operations.
- Preferred: Experience with Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle data models.
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Tableau.
- Preferred: Strong SQL development, data modeling, and analytical problem-solving skills.
