Build and support internal web applications and AI-assisted automations for the Corporate Technology team in Richmond, VA.

Design, build, and maintain internal web applications, APIs, and workflow automations
Serve as a first point of contact for employees with coding questions, including troubleshooting errors and reviewing code (including AI-generated code)
Guide colleagues through version control and development workflows, including branching and pull requests
Assist with moving prototypes built on external platforms into the firm’s internal hosting environment
Deploy and support applications on a containerized platform using Kubernetes with Git-based deployments and established templates, in partnership with the infrastructure team
Create integrations with internal and third-party systems using REST APIs
Maintain existing internal applications and support ongoing modernization
Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while ensuring code is secure, tested, and maintainable
Write clear documentation and help define development standards, templates, and best practices as the team grows

2+ years of development experience in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), via professional work, internships, or substantial academic/personal projects
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MariaDB/MySQL or PostgreSQL
Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows (branching, pull requests, code review)
Foundational IT knowledge including networking, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS certificates, and the Linux command line
Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) and the judgment to review and correct their output
Strong troubleshooting skills and patience explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues

Compensation: USD 85,000 - 110,000 per yearly
