This US-based role requires two days in the office per week, with compensation ranging from USD 106,000 to 197,000 per year based on experience and qualifications. The role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and developer experience, enabling scalable software delivery for thousands of engineers.
The Platform Ecosystems team builds and operates the internal tooling and integrations that power Liberty Mutualβs software delivery at enterprise scale. The role includes supporting a large-scale eventing platform that processes approximately 1.7 million events daily to enable downstream engineering and operational workflows. You will contribute to automations, integrations, and API surface areas that strengthen developer productivity and ecosystem health.
Responsibilities
- Platform Services Engineering: Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and automation that power and extend the internal software delivery platform.
- Core Platform Ownership: Engineer and improve integrations, automation patterns, access mechanisms, and operation of core software delivery SaaS platforms.
- Event-Driven Workflows: Design and support event-driven processes using AWS services such as Lambda and SQS, as well as Kafka.
- Integration & Automation: Create integrations, wrapper APIs, and service layers that extend vendor tooling and reduce manual operational effort.
- Platform Reliability: Ensure reliability, observability, and scalability of platform services through proactive design and strong operational practices.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with multiple engineering teams to embed platform capabilities into delivery workflows and improve the overall developer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based developer platforms and CI/CD tooling.
- Proven track record building automation and integrations across vendor platforms.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across engineering squads.
