Job Description

Ensemble RCM LLC is hiring an entry-level Application Security Engineer I to support its Cybersecurity Technical Assessments team. In this remote role based in Blue Ash, OH, you will learn how security tooling fits into the software lifecycle while helping validate application security findings and partnering with development teams on remediation support.

The position is designed for growth, with hands-on experience analyzing code, using security tools under supervision, and contributing to basic automation tasks within CI/CD workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with analyzing source code for secure coding practices.
  • Use SAST, DAST, and SCA tools under supervision to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Help verify tool results and document findings.
  • Log and track security issues in ticketing systems.
  • Support secure SDLC practices and CI/CD integration.
  • Collaborate with developers and operations on basic automation tasks.
  • Participate in secure code and design reviews as a learner.
  • Generate basic reports and summaries of findings.
  • Contribute to security awareness and training efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of security tools and vulnerabilities, plus basic scripting or programming knowledge.
  • Familiarity with network, application, and system security vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages relevant to security tasks.
  • Ability to follow procedures and analyze basic security issues.
  • Keen attention to detail in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including willingness to learn how to explain technical issues.
  • Ability to convey security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in team settings, with openness to feedback and mentorship.
  • Ability to work effectively with a remotely located team that may span multiple time zones.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to developing cybersecurity skills.

Compensation

  • $84,000 - $132,300 per year, based on experience.
  • Compensation is determined considering job-related factors including geographic location, knowledge, skills, relevant experience, education, licensure, internal equity, and time in position.
  • Candidate entry rates typically do not fall at the minimum or maximum of the role range.

Work Location and Travel

  • Remote position.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
