Job Description

Ovivo is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to design and deliver practical AI-enabled solutions that create measurable business value. This hybrid role in Round Rock, TX focuses on document intelligence, workflow automation, and enterprise data integration, working closely with business and technical teams to prototype, integrate, and drive adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver AI solutions, including LLM-based applications, enterprise search, and document intelligence workflows
  • Serve as an internal AI consultant by facilitating discovery workshops, identifying opportunities across business functions, building stakeholder alignment, and supporting change management efforts that drive adoption and outcomes
  • Create proof-of-value prototypes to demonstrate quick wins and measurable impact
  • Develop and maintain AI systems spanning data ingestion, data processing, model integration, evaluation, deployment, APIs, and user-facing interfaces where applicable
  • Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, data platforms, and APIs
  • Ensure solutions are grounded in trusted, governed enterprise data
  • Partner with IT and security to align with architecture, access controls, and cybersecurity standards
  • Apply responsible AI practices, including testing, monitoring, data privacy, and human oversight
  • Communicate AI capabilities, limitations, and business value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support adoption by helping stakeholders understand how AI fits into existing business processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, AI/ML engineering, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience building, testing, and deploying AI or machine learning solutions
  • Experience translating business problems into technical solutions and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience leading discovery sessions, stakeholder engagement, change management initiatives, or technology adoption efforts in a business environment
  • Proficiency with Python or similar technologies and API-based software development
  • Experience with generative AI, including large language models, prompt engineering, and embeddings
  • Strong understanding of SQL, enterprise data platforms, and data governance
  • Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including privacy, security, and human-in-the-loop design
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and production support skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and drive stakeholder alignment

Work Location and Schedule
