Civil Engineer

Sellers & Associates, Inc. is hiring an experienced Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, and administration of public infrastructure projects. Based in Lafayette, LA on-site, this full-time role focuses on guiding projects from early investigation through construction documentation and ongoing coordination.

The Civil Engineer will work across technical analysis, site observations, feasibility studies, and project management tasks, including tracking budgets, permits, and client status. The position also involves applying engineering judgment to risks, materials, and costs to help keep projects efficient, timely, and sustainable.

Responsibilities

• Manage, design, develop, and maintain public infrastructure projects in an efficient, timely, and sustainable manner
• Conduct site investigations and observations throughout project design and construction
• Analyze technical data including maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other related materials
• Complete technical and feasibility studies and prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and construction plans
• Assess potential risks, materials, and costs
• Actively manage projects to address emerging problems or deficiencies
• Coordinate with clients and provide updates on project status
• Manage project budgets and expenditures
• Obtain and comply with regulatory and environmental permits

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of work experience in civil engineering
• Professional Engineer Licensure
• Knowledge of design software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, and regulatory approvals
• Project management and supervision skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
