Civil/Geotechnical Engineer

Overview

Earth Wall Products invites a skilled Civil and Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team in Smyrna, Georgia. We design and supply retaining wall systems and construction materials used in residential, commercial, industrial, DOT and rail projects. This in-office role is based at our Smyrna location and reports to senior engineering staff. You will prepare retaining wall designs for complex projects across the United States, including bridge abutments, interstates, heavy and light rail, and commercial developments. This is not an entry level position; the role includes reviewing the work of other engineers on the team.

Responsibilities

• Full-time, in-office engineer located in Smyrna, GA
• Develop detailed retaining wall designs, sections, and quantity takeoffs
• Produce retaining wall drawings using AutoCAD
• Review the work of other members of the engineering team
• Offer recommendations or present alternative solutions to problems
• Contribute to team efforts by assisting with related tasks as needed

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related technical field from an ABET-accredited program
• Coursework and/or experience in geotechnical engineering is required
• Minimum of four years of experience plus a PE license and/or MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools
• Ability to identify and solve complex problems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks from concept through delivery

Preferred

• Experience with retaining wall design is highly preferred
• Knowledge of grading and roadway plans, slope stability, foundation design, and reinforced concrete is preferred
• Strong verbal communication, writing, and technical presentation skills
