Cyber Systems Security Engineer
Job Description
This onsite role in Fort Walton Beach, FL focuses on cyber resiliency for the Space Fence radar, covering system hardening, vulnerability management, monitoring, and RMF/CT&E support in collaboration with the ISSO and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Harden operating systems, applications, and network devices to reduce exposure
- Perform regular vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses
- Continuously monitor the system's security posture and alerts
- Assist with Government Certification Testing and Evaluation (CT&E) and vulnerability testing
- Deploy security updates and patches in a timely manner
- Apply configuration changes to ESS, ACAS, and SolarWinds security tools
- Support Certification and Accreditation activities, including RMF package support
- Assist system administrators, engineers, and operators during troubleshooting events
- Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain the cybersecurity posture of the system
- Interface with the ISSO and other government security stakeholders
- Support the Security Impact Analysis (SIA) process by delivering Contract Deliverables (CDRL) and RMF artifacts for both unclassified and classified networks
Requirements
- Relevant cybersecurity engineering or systems administration experience
- Solid working knowledge of Linux or Windows environments
- IAT Level II Certification or higher (examples include CompTIA Security+ or CISSP)
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance prior to start; US citizenship required
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to customer sites across the United States
