Jamf builds security capabilities that help teams protect Apple devices at scale, and this Security Engineer I role focuses on administering security platforms and automating security operations to improve incident response. You will work within agile delivery teams, partnering across security and infrastructure while supporting Jamf’s mission of continuous improvement for customers worldwide.
What you’ll do
- Administer and maintain security platforms including SIEM, SOAR, cloud security posture management, identity and access management, endpoint and productivity suite security, cloud compute and security services, and data loss prevention, ensuring optimal configuration, performance, and coverage
- Design, develop, and maintain security automation workflows and orchestration solutions using SOAR platforms and Python to reduce manual effort and improve incident response times
- Build and maintain security infrastructure as code using Terraform and CloudFormation, applying configuration management practices for security tools and cloud security controls
- Support Detection and Response activities by assisting incident response teams and generating reports on security tool performance and automation effectiveness
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in information security, IT operations, or a related technical role with demonstrated security tool administration or security automation project experience (Required)
- Working knowledge of one or more of: cloud platforms, identity management solutions, endpoint security features, and security concepts including DLP, SIEM, vulnerability management, and SOAR platforms (Required)
- Basic proficiency in Python scripting (Required)
- Experience with one or more cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (Required)
- Experience with development tooling such as GitHub and Terraform for CI/CD (Preferred)
- Strong problem-solving with attention to detail, ability to write clean and maintainable code, and effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences (Preferred)
- 4 year / Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
- A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered
- Preferred: Security certifications such as Security+, GSEC, cloud security or other relevant certifications

Location and remote considerations
This role is offered as remote in the Minneapolis, MN and Eau Claire, WI metro areas. You may be required to work periodically at a Jamf office or collaborative work location with other Jamf employees in your area for certain events or moments that matter. Jamf is only able to accept applications for candidates based in one of these locations.
Security and privacy requirements
- Participation in ongoing security training is mandatory
- Established security protocols will be adhered to, sensitive data handled responsibly, and data protection practices followed, including understanding relevant privacy regulations and reporting breaches

Salary range: USD 77,400 to 140,340 per year.
Minimum experience: 2 years.
Education: 4 year/Bachelor’s Degree.
