Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description
Flow Control Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, administer, and continuously improve security technologies and processes that protect users, systems, applications, and data. This role will help manage security platforms, monitor and respond to incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, and support Microsoft 365 and Azure security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize security platforms, including CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Proofpoint, ThreatLocker, Zscaler, and associated MDR services.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events and incidents.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts.
- Support Microsoft 365 and Azure security initiatives.
- Administer identity and access controls, including MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access.
- Develop security standards, procedures, and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to strengthen security posture and support compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of cybersecurity or security engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with several of the listed security technologies.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Technology and Tools
The position involves working with platforms and tools including CrowdStrike Falcon, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Proofpoint, ThreatLocker, Zscaler, and MDR services, along with Microsoft 365 and Azure security. Identity and access experience includes MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access. Additional tools and skill areas include SIEM, EDR, PowerShell, and Python, as well as related certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, SC-200, SC-300, and AZ-500.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure and Microsoft 365 security experience.
- PowerShell or Python automation experience.
- MDR and threat intelligence experience.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CISSP, SC-200, SC-300, or AZ-500.
