Cybersecurity Engineer
Job Description
Cinter Career is looking for a Senior Pre-Sales Security Engineer to act as a primary technical resource for cybersecurity opportunities across New York, supporting regulated financial institutions and other Japanese-headquartered organizations. In this onsite role, you will drive technical discovery, shape solution architecture, lead PoCs and demonstrations, and help translate customer needs into proposals and delivery handover.
Role and responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery and scoping discussions with prospective and existing customers.
- Translate business requirements into solution architectures across a broad cybersecurity portfolio, including MXDR, EDR/XDR, SASE/ZTNA, Email Security, SSPM/DSPM, Password Management, Brand Protection, and Security Awareness Training.
- Plan, configure, and lead customer proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements and product demonstrations.
- Define evaluation criteria and success metrics for customer assessments.
- Present findings and recommendations that support customer decision-making and proposal development.
- Deliver bilingual (Japanese/English) technical demonstrations and presentations when required.
- Create solution architecture diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), technical scope documents, assumptions, and high-level effort estimates.
- Support proposal and Statement of Work (SOW) development.
- Contribute technical content to RFI/RFP responses and customer-facing quotations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with strategic technology partners and vendor sales engineering teams.
- Stay current on product roadmaps, new features, and competitive cybersecurity market trends.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and support the development of new service offerings, including DSPM, ASM, and AI Security.
- Ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales to project delivery, including clear documentation of scope, assumptions, customer expectations, risks, and technical requirements.
- Participate in project kickoffs and provide technical guidance during the initial delivery stages.
- Serve as the primary pre-sales technical resource for customer accounts in the New York region, with emphasis on Japanese-headquartered financial institutions, trading companies, and insurance organizations.
- Support customers across other regions of the United States as needed.
- Incorporate regulatory and compliance considerations into solution designs and project scoping, including NYDFS Part 500, FFIEC, and SOX IT.
- Develop reusable solution templates, reference architectures, and pre-sales collateral.
- Deliver product training sessions and technical enablement workshops for the sales organization.
- Support account planning by aligning customer environments with available service offerings.
- Identify recurring customer challenges, technical objections, and lost-deal patterns to improve service offerings.
- Contribute to product and service roadmap discussions.
- Mentor junior engineers and help evolve the pre-sales methodology and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience in a Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies and architectures, including MXDR, EDR/XDR, SASE/ZTNA, Email Security, SSPM/DSPM, Password Management, Brand Protection, and Security Awareness solutions.
- Proven experience leading technical discovery, requirements gathering, and solution design engagements.
- Hands-on experience conducting PoCs, product evaluations, and technical demonstrations.
- Ability to create architecture diagrams, BOMs, technical proposals, scope documents, and Statements of Work.
- Experience supporting RFI/RFP responses and technical proposal development.
- Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of security and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
- Professional-level communication skills in Japanese and English.

Location: New York, NY (onsite). Salary: USD 70,000 - 100,000 per yearly.
