The role centers on integrating physical hardware with control software and refining automated instruments to meet high-precision semiconductor requirements. It involves hands-on development, field installations, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize product performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype new hardware assemblies for robotic systems and analytical instruments, prioritizing mechanical robustness and manufacturability.
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot the interface between physical robotic components and control software to ensure reliable communication and precise motion.
- Perform automated analyses of semiconductor process chemicals to verify purity and quality.
- Operate advanced analytical instrumentation, including robotic systems, mass spectrometers, and other high-precision devices.
- Collaborate on refining automation products by providing feedback on hardware performance and software responsiveness to drive engineering improvements.
- Travel to customer sites to install hardware, calibrate software interfaces, and provide hands-on training to end users.
Requirements
- A bachelorβs degree in a STEM field (examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Physics).
- Strong SolidWorks skills for developing complex mechanical designs, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- A keen interest in how software commands translate into physical hardware actions across sensors, actuators, and motor controllers.
- A logical, analytical mindset for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues in real time.
- Dependable, responsible, and capable of working independently as well as within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good computer literacy and the ability to clearly communicate technical hardware issues to the design team.
