Job Description

Booz Allen Hamilton offers a mission-driven cybersecurity role in San Diego that supports DoD and Navy missions by implementing security controls, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and applying RMF to protect critical systems. Responsibilities

  • Build productive relationships quickly, translating security concepts for audiences ranging from executives to technical teams.
  • Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls to enhance detection, vulnerability management, and event correlation across large environments.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments across network, system, and application domains.
  • Utilize big data analytics alongside traditional security event data to identify advanced threats and indicators of compromise.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with IT systems for a DoD or government agency.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Experience with security controls or policies, compliance, vulnerability analysis or remediation for networks, systems, or communications protocols.
  • Knowledge of operating systems and technologies including Windows, Linux, cloud, or virtualization.
  • Experience with eMASS and processing packages through workflows; assisting with security policies, assessment documentation, and developing written risks, mitigations, and recommendations.
  • Ability to plan and execute client deliverables, work independently, identify problems, and communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences; capable of leading tasks from inception to completion.
  • Ability to implement, upgrade, or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve defenses and maintain a cyber-resilient network.
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • DoD 8140 Certification.

  • Experience integrating security into DevOps or DevSecOps pipelines
  • Experience implementing automation methodologies and processes
  • Experience deploying and maintaining cybersecurity tools aligned with the current threat landscape, and analyzing risks at tactical and strategic levels
  • Experience with network engineering across Windows, Linux, and virtualization, plus security tools and technologies such as firewalls, proxies, IPS, vulnerability scanners, and penetration tools
  • Experience responding to computer security breaches and reporting
  • Ability to meet cyber schedule, performance, and quality metrics within SDLC and acquisition lifecycle
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics
  • OS Certification

Clearance and certifications

  • Secret clearance is required.
  • HS diploma or GED (as noted above).
  • DoD 8140 Certification.

Compensation

Salary range: $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 annually.

Identity verification

As part of the hiring process, you may be asked to complete an identity verification process that uses biometric and artificial intelligence measures to ensure authenticity and protect against fraud. Interviews and assessments may involve on-camera participation, and a photo may be captured to verify identity.

AI tools are part of Booz Allen’s daily work, and the company supports responsible AI usage. Use of artificial intelligence or similar tools to assist with interview responses is prohibited unless explicit permission is provided.

Work model

Onsite roles are performed primarily at Booz Allen facilities or customer sites. Hybrid arrangements may require frequent in-person work at Booz Allen facilities and occasional visits to customer facilities. Remote options may be available, but in-person collaboration is common as needed by the role.
