Job Description

Raytheon is seeking an onsite Cybersecurity Engineer II in Tewksbury, MA to help define security requirements, perform vulnerability assessments, and ensure RMF compliance through A&A processes, backed by an active DoD Secret clearance. This role sits at the crossroads of engineering and security, requiring close collaboration with program and design teams to implement resilient controls for complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Define security requirements and design solutions, offering guidance on security technologies.
  • Analyze security data and test results to support informed decisions.
  • Prepare and maintain security documentation to satisfy compliance requirements.
  • Specify cybersecurity requirements, architectures, artifacts, strategies, plans, and policies.
  • Lead or provide guidance on vulnerability assessments, including defining, negotiating, and executing A&A events.
  • Collaborate with program and engineering teams to evaluate cybersecurity solution options.
  • Conduct cybersecurity audits to verify proper implementation and posture compliance.
  • Plan and oversee the development and testing of security controls across networking devices, databases, operating systems, and hardware/software components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field, with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience in cybersecurity, compliance, and RMF.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required prior to start; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Background with security features and vulnerabilities across operating systems as defined by NSA, NIST, DISA (STIGs), and USCYBERCOM.
  • Experience with network and system security administration, including OS security configuration and account management for Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Cisco systems.
  • Familiarity with NIST RMF as described in NIST 800-37.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiar with Program Protection Plan PPP as required by DoDI 5000.2 and DoDI 5200.39.
  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-III compliant certifications (CISSP, CCNP Security, CISA, etc.).
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government contract proposals as an Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert.
  • Security-focused network and operating system certifications or training (e.g., Cisco-related).
  • Self-starter requiring limited direction and supervision.
