Job Description

The Junior Cybersecurity Engineer role at Booz Allen Hamilton supports the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing maintenance of systems and tools that automate complex cybersecurity activities. The position operates under direct supervision and focuses on applying fundamental cybersecurity principles to address routine problems.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, integrates, and maintains systems and tools that automate complex cyber activities
  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity, escalating more complex issues to higher levels
  • Works under direct supervision

Requirements

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages: C/C++, PowerShell, and Python
  • Knowledge of general computer systems, including information security software and hardware components, network systems, databases, or information security safeguards
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies
  • Ability to break down complex information technology systems, including cloud, servers, firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Ability to communicate technical details to various internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT II+ certification, including Security+, within 90 days of the start date
