Cybersecurity Forward Deployed Engineer - FDE - Manager
Job Description
Accenture Security is seeking a seasoned Cybersecurity Forward Deployed Engineer to advance secure AI deployments inside client environments in Arlington. The role centers on shaping security architecture, governance, and tooling for agentic AI, translating complex risk into practical safeguards and scalable patterns that drive the Secure AI practice forward.
Responsibilities
- Own the security design for production agentic AI deployments across multi-stakeholder client environments, including LLM systems, multi-agent pipelines, RAG architectures, and MLOps infrastructure, guiding threat modeling from assessment to hardened deployment.
- Deliver practical security engineering using agentic coding tools as the primary build environment to create AI powered detectors, automated threat response tooling, security assessment frameworks, and governance automation, employing Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in daily work.
- Manage AI specific threat surfaces at program scale, covering OWASP LLM Top 10 controls, prompt injection hardening, model extraction prevention, adversarial input defenses, and AI supply chain security across concurrent client streams.
- Architect and govern AI security controls across the enterprise stack, including identity and access for AI systems, data pipeline security, model serving security, and cross‑cloud integration risk (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Lead the implementation of AI governance frameworks such as EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF, applying model risk management to live production systems rather than theoretical exercises.
- In collaboration with client CISOs and CTOs, shape AI reinvention security strategies by building risk‑adjusted investment cases, roadmaps for security architecture, and AI governance operating models aligned to business outcomes.
- Define and publish reusable security patterns, playbooks, and accelerators to scale across client engagements and grow the Secure AI practice.
- Lead architecture design sessions, threat modeling workshops, and code-with sessions with client engineering and security leadership teams.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of production engineering experience with a cybersecurity discipline depth in at least one area such as application security, SecOps / detection engineering, cloud security, IAM, offensive security / penetration testing, or governance, risk, and compliance.
- At least one year of hands-on experience designing and deploying agentic AI solutions in production; theoretical familiarity does not qualify.
- Six or more years of end-to-end security delivery ownership in a client‑embedded or production environment; internal advisory or compliance‑only roles do not qualify.
- Six or more years working with cloud security fundamentals on at least one provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP): IAM, network security, secrets management, and AI service security configurations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years); if holding an Associate’s degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience is required.
- Proven ability to translate security risk into business terms, presenting threat exposure as a risk‑adjusted investment rationale that executives can act on.
- Experience in people leadership, including managing, developing, and performance‑managing a team of engineers, setting development plans, and conducting career conversations.
