Cybersecurity Specialist / Network Engineer
Job Description
Echo Lake Foods, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist with hands-on network engineering expertise to safeguard its IT infrastructure, networks, and data. This onsite role in Burlington, Wisconsin blends security operations with practical network design to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing enterprise environments. The position offers a salary range of USD 85,000 to 110,000 per year and requires at least three years of relevant experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor security events, assess alerts, and coordinate responses to threats.
- Administer and maintain security tools such as firewalls, endpoint detection and response (EDR), SIEM platforms, email security solutions, MFA, and identity management systems.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and lead remediation efforts.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Investigate suspicious activity and contribute to incident response and forensic analyses.
- Manage Microsoft 365 and Azure security configurations, including Defender and Conditional Access policies.
- Stay informed on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and cloud networking environments.
- Troubleshoot network performance, outages, and connectivity issues.
- Configure and support switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, and SD-WAN.
- Monitor network health, bandwidth usage, and system availability.
- Implement secure network segmentation and access controls.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Collaborate with IT teams and vendors on infrastructure upgrades and implementations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or network engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and general network protocols and architectures.
- Experience with firewalls such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, or SonicWall.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and cloud security practices.
- Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
