Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (Level 1/2)
Job Description
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (Level 1/2) in San Diego, CA (onsite) to support vulnerability assessment, authorization artifacts, and cybersecurity process automation.
Responsibilities
- Solve complex technical problems using cybersecurity concepts
- Review and assess results from static code analysis
- Complete Cybersecurity Impact Appraisals/Evaluations for hardware/software projects
- Generate and maintain required artifacts that support Air Force authorization decisions
- Perform system vulnerability scans using tools such as ACAS and STIGs
- Conduct manual STIG / SRG verifications across disparate equipment types
- Collect and evaluate findings from STIG / SRG verification activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 0 years of relevant military/professional experience
- OR Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant military/professional experience
- OR Master’s degree in a STEM field and at least 0 years of relevant military/professional experience
- Experience in cybersecurity
- Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government Secret or higher clearance
- Secret clearance requirement includes a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment into Continuous Evaluation
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications
- CSSLP, CISSP, CEH, or Security+
- Foundational knowledge and experience with core systems engineering principles, including:
- Requirements development, allocation, and traceability
- Verification and validation planning and execution
- Engineering Change Processes
- Experience performing cybersecurity impact assessments during design changes, capability upgrades, and/or baseline reviews
- Experience performing system vulnerability scans using ACAS and automated STIG tooling such as:
- Evaluate STIG
- Security Compliance Checker
- Experience with networking technologies, router and switch configurations, and troubleshooting including security/vulnerability assessments
- Active U.S. government Secret clearance or higher (background investigation completed within the last 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation)

Salary
- Primary level salary range: $83,800.00 - $125,800.00
- Secondary level salary range: $101,000.00 - $151,400.00
