Data & Analytics Engineer
Job Description
Data & Analytics Engineer at True Classic, onsite in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for owning data platform infrastructure and connecting the data warehouse to AI, finance, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain modular dbt models adhering to standards for testing, documentation, and code quality
- Support open data model workstreams across inventory, media, and product domains to drive completion
- Broaden data source integrations and extend pipeline coverage into marketing and fulfillment systems
- Maintain and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Daasity and Google BigQuery
- Monitor and tune cloud data infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance
- Deploy and sustain Omni dashboards built on BigQuery for cross-functional stakeholders
- Structure financial data to enable KPI tracking, including forecasting, cost modeling, and channel-level P&L analyses
- Contribute to predictive modeling for demand forecasts, inventory planning, and revenue projections
- Build and maintain the data serving layer used by the AI team, providing clean, modeled BigQuery tables instead of direct API calls
- Leverage AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) daily to author dbt models, troubleshoot pipelines, and speed development
- Collaborate with the AI team to ensure warehouse outputs support automation, ML models, and real-time operations tools
- Identify AI-enabled opportunities to automate data quality checks, anomaly detection, and pipeline monitoring
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering
- Solid grasp of data engineering fundamentals, including pipeline design, data modeling, testing, and documentation
- Practical experience with dbt Cloud, Google BigQuery, and SaaS API pipeline development
- Proficient SQL skills covering joins, window functions, and common table expressions (CTEs)
- Python proficiency for scripting data pipelines, API integrations, and light modeling tasks
- Experience with statistical modeling and predictive analytics, including regression and time series
- Ability to translate business questions for non-technical stakeholders into data models and visualizations
- Proficiency with AI coding tools, with daily use expected

Cross Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with finance to align financial data structures with forecasting and P&L reporting requirements
- Partner with the AI team to ensure warehouse outputs support downstream automation and machine learning applications
- Work with merchandising, operations, and analytics stakeholders to translate business questions into reliable data models and visualizations
