Job Description
Onsite in Cincinnati, OH, this Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer III role focuses on designing scalable data solutions for a banking environment, leveraging DBT, Snowflake, and SQL. Compensation is USD 55 - 60 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support data solutions, APIs, tools, and processes to enable rapid delivery of business capabilities.
- Collaborate with IT application teams, Enterprise Architecture, infrastructure, information security, and lines of business to translate strategies into data driven solutions for the bank.
- Serve as a technical expert addressing challenges in system and application design, performance, integration, and security.
- Research and develop using current trends in banking, data engineering and architecture, and data security.
- Partner with developers to build CI/CD pipelines, self service build tools, and automated deployment processes.
- Evaluate software products and provide documented recommendations as needed.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for data platforms, including escalated on call assistance for complex incidents.
- Participate in hardware and software planning processes.
- Lead internal projects as needed, such as legacy system replacement, monitoring and analytics improvements, tool development, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring for team members.
- Manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage management, sponsors, business and IT teams, and technical resources.
- Seven or more years of IT experience relevant to the position.
- Working knowledge of application and data security concepts, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: big data technologies, metadata management, commercial ETL tools, BI and reporting tools, messaging systems, data warehousing, Java, major version control systems, CI/CD tools, infrastructure automation/virtualization, major cloud platforms, or REST API design and development.
- Experience collaborating with offshore teams is desirable.
- Financial industry experience is a plus.
