Job Description
Hybrid work in Richmond, Virginia with an established data engineering team is the focus of this Data Engineer (ETL) role at Surety Systems, Inc. The client has moved to Snowflake, and this position supports ongoing projects for at least a year, with a strong likelihood of additional extensions. The role emphasizes practical delivery work, including complex SQL and proven ETL tooling experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Support ongoing client projects as part of the larger data engineering team after the move to Snowflake
- Work across varied initiatives for the client
- Create complex SQL queries quickly and accurately
Key requirements
- US Citizen or Green Card Holder
- 5+ years of Data Engineer experience
- 5+ years of SQL experience, including Standard SQL and Oracle SQL
- 4+ years of ETL tool experience with Talend, Informatica, and/or dbt
- Ability to pass a formal Background & Credit Check
- Location requirement: Richmond, VA 23219 (required)
Nice to have
- Some experience with scripting/Python
- Experience with Denodo and supporting AI solutions (nice to have)
Schedule, duration, and pay
- Hybrid remote in Richmond, VA 23219
- In-office every other week, Tuesday through Friday
- Expected duration: at least 1 year, with strong probability of extensions
- Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
