Job Description
McCoy Group is seeking a Data Engineer based in Dubuque, IA to design and support scalable data solutions. The role focuses on building and maintaining ingestion and transformation pipelines, strengthening Microsoft Fabric enterprise data warehouse capabilities, and enabling reporting, dashboards, analytics, and AI-ready datasets for business stakeholders and analysts.
This is an in-person position in Dubuque, IA 52001, and the ideal candidate brings hands-on experience spanning data engineering, Microsoft Fabric, and production support.
What you will do
- Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines
- Integrate data from databases, APIs, on-premises systems, and third-party platforms
- Develop and optimize Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Microsoft Fabric Data Warehouse environments
- Support Power BI reporting, analytics, and AI-related initiatives
- Help ensure data is secure, reliable, accurate, and properly governed
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize pipeline performance
- Follow best practices for coding, documentation, version control, and deployment
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based platforms
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing
- Experience with SQL, Python and/or Spark, Power BI, APIs, and Git/DevOps for data integration
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Ability to travel when needed
